BOOHOO.com review

Hey everyone,

I’m back again after a while with another review on an online shopping site- BOOHOO! (or Boo woop! Rave or diss. Hit or miss.)

During a period of heavy assignments, I was searching for a black fitted mesh top online(as I didn’t have time to wander around) and the only site that sold what I was looking for was Boohoo.com.

Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on purchasing off Boohoo due to online reviews on the fit and sizing of garments if not the quality of them – but then ‘shit quality’ is expected of fast brands. I tend to read the worst reviews possible to prepare myself  for what could happen so I was expecting the package to not even arrive! I had bought from Boohoo two years ago, a clear PVC envelope clutch which I still have and it still lives to its day despite being used so much – though it’s probably attributed to the fact that it is constructed of a stiffer material to the shirt I bought(in the images below).

Standard shipping for orders that do not meet the ‘free shipping’ amount attract a fee of $4.99, with additional options for faster shipping. Also, there was a 30% off all tops sale so the total racked up to be $18.99 AUD instead of $24.99 AUD.

I was about to pay with my debit card when I saw that there was a Paypal option so I clicked that instead in case anything went wrong with the order. There’s so many complaints about Boohoo customer service but I was talking to a friend who emailed Boohoo about a fault in the boots she ordered – a patch of leather was missing/was torn off near the sole and they responded relatively quick (1-2 days).

The package was estimated to arrive by Tuesday, the 21st of June 2016 but instead arrived on Thursday, the 23rd of June.

I was still shocked that the package arrived in the first place so I failed to notice the ‘ball of fluff/pilling‘ initially. Not a major issue because I intended to wear this shirt once. Luckily, I read that sizes run small so I chose a size 10 instead of a size 8 and for some reason, the sleeves of this shirt feel tight against my arms which is weird since this is a size up but the sleeves feel like a size 7 perhaps?

Final impressions?

The thing with popular fast fashion online stores is that they sell trendy garments that often lack in quality whereas domestic on sale fast fashion garments tend to be of a higher quality but lack the diversity in designs. So basically, customers rarely win with fast fashion especially if they’re on a time budget.

Would I purchase again off Boohoo?

Probably not. If I had to(as in other online stores that I frequent from do not stock it and only Boohoo does) purchase off Boohoo, I’d need to check the item construction and fibre content (as I do with other online stores) to ensure I’m getting my money’s worth.
