Today’s blogpost will be on Cafe Mint, located at 579 Crown St, Surry Hills NSW 2010.
Opening hours are 8:00m-3:00pm, 5:30pm-10:00pm (Tues-Sat) 8am-4pm (Sun).
I’ve been here twice before reviewing it, and the third time did not disappoint! Though I keep ordering the same/similar thing everytime because it’s so good!
I really want to try the ravioli but I’ve been trying to stick to a Vegetarian diet whilst eating outside and reduce overall meat intake for environmental reasons.
Haloumi chips. One food I always have difficult describing is haloumi chips. The preserved lemon aioli adds a bit of a mature zesty tang to the sauce and complimenting the flavour of the haloumi chips though I don’t find haloumi to taste that cheesy.
To be honest when I first got this drink, it was dark green pretty much 90% shredded/blended mint leaves I was so confused that I asked the lady whether it was the right drink and she said that was the mint in the drink HAHA but since then, they’ve toned down the mint leaves. This is a very refreshing drink, not too sweet and not too minty.
One thing though: PLASTIC STRAW – momentarily forgot how normal it is for plastic straws to be stuck in dine in drinks.
This is a very filling dish that doesn’t make you feel heavy and bloated. One day I hope to recreate this dish at home so I can eat it whenever I feel like it.
I would definitely go back and try out the other dishes – especially their desserts. The service is amazing and so is the food.
Average cost per person including drinks are around $25-30+ depending on what you order.
P.S. Just a heads up, if you go there on a Sunday, there will be a minor surcharge.
Thanks for reading – any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated!
