Devon Cafe review

Hey guys,

Under the recommendation of my friend, I went to this cafe, Devon cafe two weeks ago. It’s located at 76 Devonshire St, Surry Hills NSW 2010.

With fusion cafes and restaurants, sometimes the dishes sound ambiguous and vague so it’s a matter of elimination of which would taste the less weird.

I felt like the menu choices were limited as there were a lot of meat heavy dishes – meat heavy for a person who prefers meals with little to no meat and more vegetables. I ended up choosing the Yakuza burger because the bruschetta had kale in it 😦 and I’m not a fan of kale.

I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a ‘bad burger’ before – this just tasted exactly like what the listed ingredients were. Though the chips tasted mediocre, there wasn’t much of a memorable taste to whatever the seasoning was.

Overall comments

I didn’t get to take photos of the interior because there were a lot of people but because of the semi open courtyard at the back of the cafe, the seating experience felt more open and comfortable. Personally for me, I feel cramped when tables are crammed closely near each other.

Overall, I would go again if we happened to pass by it in search for a place to eat but I wouldn’t actively seek it out myself. It’s just not really my taste overall.

Thanks for reading – any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated!

Emily
