Rusty Rabbit cafe, Burwood review

Located on 27/31 Belmore St, Burwood NSW 2134, Rusty Rabbit cafe offers an all day breakfast and lunch from 11am menu in an informally spacious environment that spans outside of the doors of the main area.

We arrived at around 10.20am and it was pretty busy with about 15 occupied tables and 1 or 2 empty tables which filled up not long after we sat down. Wait time for the food seemed longer than usual (maybe it was due to the amount of dishes to be made for the endless people coming in).

See their menu here.

Overall comments

The portion for the price was on the pricey side given that it wasn’t in the heart of the city as well(roughly 12 min ride from Central), it felt more like a $13 AUD dish than a $16.50 dish. The ingredients were fresh though and it just tasted like any good brunch item, the portion sizes were a disappointment that’s all.

Also, as it takes me about 45 minutes (excluding stopover wait time) of a train ride to get to Burwood and an extra 10 minutes to walk to the location from the station, I don’t think I’ll be going out of my way to visit again.
